The use of cookies

Steelworxx uses cookies to ensure easy use and for the shopping basket function. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your end device. The cookies used by Steelworxx are deleted as soon as you leave the corresponding page and exit your browser (so-called session cookies). Steelworxx does not use other cookies that remain on your end device and enable your browser to be recognised on your next visit (persistent cookies). The cookies set by us are necessary to provide you with a practical shopping basket function.

You can configure your browser so that you are informed about the placing of cookies and so that you can decide on an individual basis whether to accept them or to exclude the acceptance of cookies in

certain cases or in general. You can also delete cookies at a later date using your browser settings.

Depending on the browser used, you can set your browser to accept cookies only if you agree. Usually, the help function in the menu bar of your web browser shows you how to reject new cookies and deactivate cookies already placed. Steelworxx recommends that you always completely log out of shared computers after your session has ended when these computers are configured to accept cookies.

Newsletter

Steelworxx offers you a newsletter to keep you up-to-date on our activities.

You will only receive this newsletter if you have expressly consented to it being sent to you within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) 1 (a) of the GDPR. We use the so-called double opt-in procedure for sending the newsletter, i.e. after signing up for the newsletter, it will be sent to you by e-mail only once you confirm, by clicking on a link in an e-mail we send you, that the newsletter service should be activated. Please note that you will also receive an e-mail expressly confirming your subscription to the Steelworxx newsletter.

The protection of your e-mail address is of particular concern to us. The newsletter will be sent by CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede, Germany. You can view the data protection regulations of the service provider here: https://www.cleverreach.com/de/datenschutz/. The service provider is deployed on the basis of our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 (1) f of the GDPR and an order processing contract in accordance with Art. 28 (3) 1 of the GDPR.

The service provider can use the data of the recipients in pseudonymous form, i.e. without any correlation to the user, in order to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. to technically optimise sending out and displaying the newsletter or for statistical purposes. However, the service provider does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to contact them directly, nor does it pass the data on to third parties.

The newsletters contain a so-called “web-beacon”, i.e. a file the size of a pixel, which is retrieved from our server when the newsletter is opened or, if we use a service provider, from its server. At the time it is retrieved, technical information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval are collected. This information is used to technically improve the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour by means of their locations (which can be determined through the IP address) and access times. Statistical data is also collected on whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened, and which links are clicked on. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. It is, however, neither our intention nor, if used, that of the service provider to observe individual users.

The analysis serves much more to identify the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content based on the interests of our users. Unfortunately consent to this performance assessment cannot be separately withdrawn, in which case the entire newsletter subscription must be cancelled.

You can withdraw your consent to the storage of your e-mail address and to its use in sending out the newsletter at any time. You can either contact us using the contact details listed in Section 1 above, or simply click on the unsubscribe link at the end of each newsletter. Steelworxx will delete your e- mail address immediately once you withdraw your consent.

Google Fonts

This website uses so-called web fonts from Google (Google Fonts). Google Fonts is a service of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (www.google.com). More information about this service can be found at: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq.

The integration of Google Fonts serves to display uniform fonts on your device. The possibility of a uniform display reduces the design effort and avoids us having to react to the font standards of different operating systems or browsers with our own graphically adapted websites. The legal basis for the processing of personal data described here is Art. 6 (1) f of the GDPR.

The Google Fonts service provides various fonts for this purpose. These are displayed in your browser cache after a server call to Google, so that Google receives the IP address you are using. When you visit our website, Google also receives the information that you have accessed the relevant subpage of our website. Whether and to what extent and/or over what period the IP address is stored by Google and used internally is beyond our knowledge.

If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, Google may still store your IP address and use it to create a profile. Google stores the data collected about you as user profiles and uses these for advertising purposes, market research and/or the needs-based design of your website. Such analysis (also of users who are not logged in) is conducted in order to display targeted advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles at Google.

Please note that data processing by Google can take place outside the EU/EEA. Google also processes your personal data in the USA and is subject to the EU-US Privacy Shield [https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework]. Further information on data protection at Google can be found here [http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/].
